As mentioned above, Adamax is a compound derived from the neuropeptide Semax, specifically categorized as an “N-acetyl Semax base.” This denotes a modified form of the original neuropeptide Semax.

Semax, initially developed in Russia, is a synthetic peptide recognized for its potential cognitive-enhancing and neuroprotective effects. The introduction of an acetyl group to the N-terminus of the Semax peptide results in the creation of N-Acetyl Semax, altering its properties to some extent. Moreover, at the C-terminus of the molecule, an adamantyl portion from a compound known as P21 has been incorporated. 

The distinctive adamantane group in Adamax contributes to its heightened potential effects. The lipophilic (fat-loving) nature of the adamantane group enhances the potential stability and bioavailability of Adamax, potentially facilitating its effective delivery to target areas and prolonging its presence in test subjects. Thanks to the adamantane group, Adamax may more readily cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), a safety barrier separating circulation from the brain of subjects. This increased permeability through the BBB allows Adamax to potentially interact directly with brain tissues, potentially amplifying both cognitive and physical benefits.
